(Sports Network) - Two of the top contenders in the battle to be Canadas starting goaltender at the 2010 Winter Olympics will take to the ice tonight as Roberto Luongo of the Vancouver Canucks and Martin Brodeur of the New Jersey Devils take to the ice at the Prudential Center. Tonight marks the lone scheduled meeting between New Jersey and the Canucks this season. The Devils posted a 5-3 victory in Vancouver last season, but the Canucks have still won five of the last seven encounters between the clubs. Jersey has also lost four of its last six home games in this series. The Devils will be shooting for a fourth consecutive victory in this evenings interconference showdown. New Jersey has won three straight and 11 of their last 14 games, but are still second in the Atlantic Division and three points behind Pittsburgh. New Jersey hasnt played since Saturday when it recorded a blowout victory over the visiting New York Islanders. Patrik Elias and Brian Rolston each scored twice and picked up two assists, as the Devils used a four-goal third period to defeat the Islanders, 6-1. Zach Parise and Mike Mottau also tallied, while Jamie Langenbrunner recorded two assists for the Devils. Parise has recorded a point in a career-high 10 straight games and has nine goals and six assists during the tear. Brodeur made 22 saves against the Isles, improving his record to 15-6-1 on the season. On the injury front, Langenbrunner, New Jerseys captain, is questionable for tonights game with an undisclosed injury. The Devils could get forwards Jay Pandolfo and Rob Niedermayer back on the ice tonight after lengthy absences. Pandolfo has missed the last 15 games with a separated right shoulder, while Niedermayer has sat out 11 straight with an upper-body issue. Both players are questionable and would need to be activated from injured reserve before skating in tonights game. New Jersey is playing the second test on a four-game homestand and will shoot for its seventh straight home victory.
