The Owls scored the first six points of the second half and got within 40-29 when Lavoy Allen hit 1-of-2 from the line, but Talleys jumper ignited a brief run that saw Duquesne take a 48-31 edge more than six minutes in. Sean Johnsons layup with 9:07 to play made it 56-38 and Temple was never able to shrink its deficit below double digits for the rest of the game. The Owls only came within 12 from there.
