Stephen King and His Horror Fictions
Stephen King is one of The North Face the most influential authors in twentieth century. Nearly every American family has at least one novel of him, and the other book every family has is the Bible. We can see how popular and successful this horror fiction writer is. If you have not read his novels, you must have probably seen a film rearranged from his novels, for so many his novels were recreated to films that also gained success. The author himself ever said that the best effect of his novels is to lead his readers to die of heart disease when reading his novels. Having this belief, he gives too much surprise to his readers. People are quite familiar with some novels such as "Carrie", "The Shining", "the Shaw shank Redemption", "the Dark Half", "Pet Sematary", "Dark Tower" and so on. And King is the man who behind all these tales of horror, grief, and the supernatural.Comparing with other horror fiction authors, Stephen King possesses something special to his readers. That is his horrible situations in novels can frighten you not only through your ears and eyes but also through your heart. He creates horror by building events' atmosphere, not by concrete images. He is skilled inugg discount applying psychological suspense in his works to scare his readers, meanwhile glue them tightly to his works. Though the horror fictions of Stephen King are frightening, still many readers from all over the world are addicted to them. And his gift in his works is also showed on the screen to influence more people in the world to join in his horrible journey. In this case, the American manger praised a Japanese worker in public before other Japanese workers. It is very common in American, but in Japan, an individual should never be singled out from his group for praise. It is known to all that individualism is a typical characteristic of Americans. They believed that individual is the center of the universe. They emphasize individual initiative, individual independence, individual achievements, individual expression and privacy. People's personal goals take priority over group goals. People tend not to be emotionally dependent on organization and every individual has his own right toward his private property, thought and opinions. On the other hand, the Japanese is group-oriented. They emphasize the North Face views, needs, and goals of the group rather than oneself. They may relate their achievements to the organization for which they work. In the group-oriented cultures, social norms and duties are defined by the group or organization. The individual is expected to fit into the group and respect group goals and norms.DCY
